Tame the inner critic and open up to creative flow
Through journaling and reflection, we’ll bring awareness to the things that get in the way of our own creativity. With guided conversation, we’ll have the opportunity to share our collective challenges and inspiration, while building community and connection. Cultivating a safe space for sharing honestly can open us up to taking creative risks. It’s all connected!Next we’ll discover various mark-making tools and techniques. In the spirit of experimentation and play, we will generate an array of abstract painted materials we will later use for collage. In the second week, we will look at the work of various contemporary collage artists before diving into a variety of collage techniques including layering, stenciling, and obscuring. Feedback and critique will be offered along the way as I encourage you to stretch beyond your creative comfort zone. Participants can expect to complete 1-4 pieces by the end of the workshop.
