For the second consecutive year, The New Local is hosting El Centro Amistad for an exhilarating Día de Muertos Procession through the streets of Downtown Boulder on Saturday, Nov. 2. Kicking off from The New Local’s Annex (713 Pearl St.) at 5:30 p.m. and ending with the construction of a community altar on the lawn of the Boulder Courthouse (1325 Pearl St.), this festive offering features eye-catching Catrinas, live mariachi music and an abundance of vibrancy.
Mayor Aaron Brockett will be in attendance, and Visit Boulder: the Convention and Visitors Bureau will have a photo van parked in front of the The New Local’s main gallery at 741 Pearl St. so participants can take advantage of plenty of photo-ops.
The all-female arts nonprofit, that continues to enliven Pearl Street with creative events and Downtown Boulder's only all-local gallery, invites you to join in the cultural celebration. The New Local is heading up marketing for Día de Muertos and partnering with a few select businesses along the Procession route. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to reach new patrons and promote any deals or specials you want to run in conjunction with the event. We are enthused about shining a light on other area businesses and driving folks into your doors.
