Instructor: Nora Graven
Young artists explore the beauty and intricacy of inanimate objects. learning the essentials of still life art and honing their observational and technical skills.
Throughout the course, students will delve into the fundamental principles of still life drawing, such as composition, lighting, perspective, form, and texture. They will learn how to carefully observe and capture details of objects. We will study value and the play between light and shadow. Through careful study we will translate what we see to paper.
Students will work with graphite, charcoal and color pencil and leave the class with a portfolio of still life studies.
About the Instructor:
Nora holds degrees in both graphic design and animation from SUNY Oneonta and Savannah College of Art & Design. In addition to her incredible talents in animation, Nora is a multidisciplinary artist focusing on watercolor, drawing and sculpture.
Before moving to Colorado, she taught K-6th grade art in a New York school for 5 years. She was also the Youth & Camp Director for 5 years at a local community center. Nora is passionate about children creating and helping them bring their imaginations to life!
