We named our trapper hat the "1876" as a nod to the year that Colorado gained statehood.
It is designed to keep you very warm (no more chilly ears!), while showing off your 21st century style. The outer layer is wool or wool-cashmere herringbone, with a luxury faux fur brim and cotton velvet cord ties. The inner lining is a traditional Chinese pattern on silk blend satin brocade. It was the fur trade in the 1800s that helped to bring Chinese silks into North America, so we thought it fitting to use these beautiful fabrics to line our trapper hats! In between the wool and satin is a layer of batting for extra warmth. We've road-tested these on the coldest days and always stayed toasty warm!
The green-brown wool-cashmere fabric is Ralph Lauren deadstock. The black-white wool is Rag & Bone deadstock. The brown-cream wool is imported from Japan, (and we're pretty sure it's from the same mill as the Rag & Bone fabric.) The red lining of our black and white hat is embellished with a Chinese "shòu" symbol, which means "good luck!"
Sizes are Small, Medium & Large, with the large size good for most men, or women with thicker hair.
