Instructor: Jenny Valadez Fraire
Description:
In this workshop, you will learn how to bead your own rings from start to finish. Guided by local beader Jenny Valadez Fraire, participants will start with the basics of learning how to thread a needle, select a color palette, how to pick up beads and beading techniques before moving onto creating their own rings. Participants will be able to make as many rings as they would like during the workshop time.
This class is perfect for folks who have never beaded before as every step will be guided and demonstrated or for folks who have done some beading or jewelry making in the past and may need a refresher. This class is also great for anyone wanting to hand make an intentional and meaningful gift for someone in their life. Everyone is welcome!
Participants will be taught by local artist and beader Jenny Valadez Fraire whose family lineage stems from Zaccatecas, Mexico. Jenny has been beading for nearly a decade and was passed down this ancestral art form by her mother. Through her teaching practice she views patience as the central lesson and teaching that beading provides and believes that everyone has the capacity to create.
No experience is necessary - just a desire to learn and some patience for this intricate art form!
