Teens will have the opportunity to explore the magic of clay in this 6 week class. This class will focus mostly on hand building with clay but will have the chance to experiment with the potters wheel as well! Technique demonstrations will include slab construction, coil building, pinching and extrusion. Students will have the chance to use these various hand-building and surface techniques to create their very own unique functional and sculptural work. All levels welcome, previous experience not needed.
About the instructor:
Lynette, our resident art faerie and gallery/education director at The New Local, is certified in art education grades K-12. She taught Middle & High School art internationally, was a school age youth and camp director at a community center in NY for 6 years and loves to bring the art experience to EVERY kid! Lynette has taught everything from printmaking to ceramics, pre-school body painting to sculpture! When she is not at The New Local, you will find her foraging for flowers, hiking or creating hand-built ceramics at her studio in East Boulder.
