Instructor: Anne Zaug of Hollow and Form

Craft your own bowl using a lathe! Work 1:1 with artist and wood turner, Anne Zaug to learn the ins and outs of using a lathe.  This is a technique focused class, rather than a project based class.  Although most students leave with a bowl, the main goal is to learn and develop a set of skills to continue their woodturning practice.  Beginners welcome!

This class will cover:
-The 7 Fundamentals of Woodturning
-Freehand Sharpening
-40/40 push cut style of turning
**After registering for the class, you will work with Anne to figure out a date that works for your 1:1 class.

About the Instructor:

Anne is a woodturner, creator, teacher and demonstrator. After being introduced to the lathe in 2018, she fell in love with the craft and the process. Anne spent a year trying to teach herself how to master the lathe and learned a lot in this year. In 2019, she decided to take a class with Ashley Harwood and a few months later with Stuart Batty, a third generation wood turner from the UK. Anne's skills, speed and production took off after that and she now helps Stuart teach classes throughout the USA and offer private instruction when she's not turning in my small shop.

Hollow & Form is a collection of handcrafted wooden bowls, vases and other wooden wares created from both felled trees Anne finds and exotic kiln dried wood. She preps all work, turns it on a lathe, and finishes it in all natural, food grade finishes.
