Join us for a fun and playful class in which you’ll create your own unique floral-inspired artwork on silk (framed in a circular 12” embroidery hoop). In this special summer solstice edition, we’ll get inspired by our favorite flowers that are in bloom in the summer months in CO – think zinnias, daisies, hydrangeas, sunflowers, dahlias, marigolds, cosmos, lavender (+ any florals that speak to you!)
I’ll guide you through my step-by-step process to make a floral inspired abstract painting on silk, from start to finish. We’ll play with paint, fabric markers, collage and embroidery to make a truly one of a kind piece :) — you’ll receive a full supply list after class so you can continue painting on silk on your own!
Experience level: This class is for beginners and experienced art-makers alike. If you wish to add embroidery to your piece it's helpful to know how to thread a needle and make a basic stitch before class.
Reference materials: I’ll provide floral reference images but please bring your own images of flowers if you’d like. Phone photos work great!
About your teacher: Hi, I’m Courtney! I’ve been a professional artist for 7 years and my style is an ongoing evolution of playing, experimenting, making mistakes and repeating until I create something I love. I love to see my students come to class with an open mind, bravery to try something new and surprise themselves with what they’re able to create! I bring gentleness and encouragement to all my students, guiding you to tap into your intuition and discover your unique creative voice. I can’t wait to see you in class!
