10am - 12pm
$90 per person, Unique rubber stamps, rulers, punches, markers, pens, tapes, glue, and collage materials will be provided.
Please bring your journal(s), your favorite pen/pencil, and any additional materials you like to work with.
This will be a largely explorative class with lots of materials provided to write, draw, paint, stamp, collage, and design pages in our notebooks. We will abolish the fear of a blank page. We’ll talk about some of the different purposes for a journal, its potential, and its relationship to time. This will be a workshop for musings, beginnings, collecting fragments, creating an archive, doodling. This class is open to journal-ers and sketchbook-ers of all kinds.
About the instructor:
Darin is an artist and bookbinder working across several disciplines. For as long as she can remember, she has kept sketchbook-journals which have become a principal component of her work and an investigative format to revisit for both inspiration and comfort. She works out of a studio in Boulder, making custom work as well as small editions of fine stationery from repurposed materials.
Darin holds degrees in painting and textile design and has worked as a commercial bookbinder in Berkeley, Los Angeles, and London.
