Dark Light

 

Dark Light is a beaded art show about the

union of opposites and the ones bearing witness to it all.

A collaboration with time and the play of

entropy, Salihah Moore’s work is a reflection

on forms that arise within seemingly random elements.

While weaving pieces of glass together, she

studies theoretical physics, philosophy of

consciousness and theories of the universe.

This show is dedicated to her mother, Malika

Susie-Angel-Cloud Moore (May 1941 - August

2023).

 

Salihah Moore
Salihah Moore is an artist and designer working with tiny glass beads and thread. Salihah's work is a reflection on the form that arises within seemingly random particles. Each piece is created completely intuitively rearranging a pile of glass into an expression of light and form, reversing entropy one bead at a time. What appears are pixelated clothing, wall hangings, and sculptures that simulate a visual as well as sensory experience. Her work is a meditation on something from nothing and a collaboration with time and the many studio hours listening to interviews and audiobooks about consciousness, physics, and the nature of reality. 

Handwoven in Colorado with 100% glass, thread, and time.

Cancellation Policy: Participants will be refunded 100% of respective workshop fee(s) if cancellation request is 7 days prior to start date. If cancelling fewer than 7 days before the class start date, participant will be refunded 50% of respective class registration fee. This policy helps our instructors to purchase the correct amount of materials in preparation for classes.
